In addition to its civil rights work, Civil Rights Group represents clients in several class actions under Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act. On August 15, 2023, the Northern District of Illinois granted a motion by Civil Rights Group’s client to certify a class of Illinois workers whose biometric privacy rights were allegedly violated by a Florida-based HR-systems company. The Court agreed with CRG’s arguments about the nature of the violations and their suitability for class treatment, certifying a class of more than 2,000 individuals.
